But part of it also stems from the notion that we must be the last and the sole defenders of freedom. There is an international body. It does not please all of us all the time. but it is there. The United Nations has an office of Migration and Refugee Affairs that has been very involved in evacuating large numbers of people before. My office spoke to the U.N. people this morning. and they confirmed that in fact they had airlifted well over 200.000 people from Biafra. from Bangladesh. and from other countries. We should not fail to recognize the availability of that help. or fail to make use of it.
