Session #94 · 1975–77

Speech #940041284

Remove the danger and expense of having to use U.S. troops to guarantee the safe departure of Americans in South Vietnam. Second. Bring an end to the bloodshed. Third. Enable the South Vietnamese people to salvage a voice in the postwar government of Vietnam. Fourth. Remove the need for expatriating great numbers of South Vietnamese who otherwise we will be urged to set up and sustain in exile. Fifth. Remove the need for setting up refugee camps which we would be expected to guard with our troopsa totally naive idea. I believe. Sixth.
