Mr. Speaker. In the last decade we have seen greater official recognition of art and art forms and the Individual contributions of native born and naturalized American artists. A good friend and a patron of the arts in Pittsburgh. George R. Hann. has called my attention to the credo of one such artistthe late Dr. Andrey Avinoffwho came to the United States from the Soviet Union in 1917 and whose work has been widely acclaimed. For the benefit of those who admired Dr. Avinoffs painting. as well as others in the art world. I am glad to include his credo herewith:
