Mr. Speaker. on several occasions I have drawn attention to the case of Haviv Schieber. a 63yearold resident of the United States for the last 15 years. who the Immigration Service has been trying to deport to Israel for overstaying his visitors visa in 1959. While in the United States Mr. Schieber has led a constructive. exemplary life. employing members of minority groups In his housing rehabilitation business in New York City. As I have pointed out in Senators. businessmen in New York City. and several organizations have gone on record as recommending permanent status for Mr Schieber as a desirable resident of the United States.
