Mr. Speaker. today I am reintroducing my bill to authorize 5.000 special immigrant visas for Syrian Jews. And. to date. my bill has the eager support of 23 of my colleagues in Congress. In my remarks made when this bill was first introduced. I noted that the few Jews left in Syria are subject to the worst forms of officially sponsored oppression and discrimination. Things are not getting any better for them. In fact. they are getting worse by the minute. Just a few days ago. the Syrian Government secretly began the trial of two Jewish men who have been accused of killing two Jewish women.
