These poor nations have political power. and it is time for the United States to make up its mind whether it wants to be part of the world family or to live in isolation. We cannot take care of ourselves alone any more. The nations of the world are interdependent. I do not like to see people in America denied anything. but I am sure that if we cut off what we are doing. we will have less. I am confident of it. As a young man. I remember when we closed our doors to immigration. I remember when we closed off our foreign policy. I remember when America began pursuing a course of isolation.
