Hospitals there admitted 43.000 civilian casualties. and upward of 50.000 government and Communist soldiers were killeda larger body count in a single year than all the American war deaths in Vietnam since 1965. And though. thank God. we have stopped throwing away precious American lives in Southeast Asia. we are still throwing away precious American dollars therearound $2 billion a year on new arms. ammunition. and fuelthat is right. fuelfor the military in Indochina.
