Mr. Speaker. I rise in support of H.R. 10044. a bill to increase from $100.000 to $200.000 the existing limitation on the amount of funds that may be expended to provide for facilities for the enforcement of the customs and immigration laws along our land borders. This bill amends the original act of 1930. as amended in 1962. providing for these special purpose facilities. The activities under this act include the acquisition of land. the construction of buildings. sheds. office quarters. and living facilities which are otherwise unavailable. The proposed new ceiling of $200.000 is needed to meet the increasing costs of site acquisition and construction.
