Two and a half years ago Dr. Libov applied to go to Israel with his wife and 9yearold son. He immediately lost his position and is now a laborer. Dr. Libov has subsequently submitted his application to emigrate some four or five times. The only explanation given to him for the continued denials is the allegation that he had done classified work and is therefore not permitted to leave the Soviet Union. Dr. Libov assured me that all of his writings have been published in learned periodicals and that he was never at any time involved in secret or classified work.
