Mr. Speaker. I wish to advise the House that the Subcommittee on Immigration. Citizenship. and International Law of the Committee on the Judiciary has scheduled a hearing on Thursday. September 13. 1973. concerning the oversight responsibilities of this committee with respect to the administration of the Immigration and Nationality Act. This hearing will be held in room 2237 and will commence at 10 a.m. This hearing will be concerned with the immigrant and nonimmigrant visaissuing function of the Bureau of Security and Consular Affairs. The subcommittee is extremely interested in information relating to the method of assigning visa officers to the various consular posts as well as a review of the visa work loads of the various posts. Testimony will be received from the Honorable Curtis W. Tarr.
