MANN and three freshman Members of Congress: Representatives BARBARA JORDAN. ELIZABETH HOLTZMAN. and WAYNE OWENS. The emphasis in selecting new Members to serve on this committee was designed to insure the effective participation and fresh perspectives of younger Members of Congress. The recommendations of this ad hoc subcommittee were recently considered by the House Committee on the Judiciary and some of them have already been adopted and implemented. For example. the prior designation of each subcommittee by numbers has been changed and the subcommittees have been retitled as follows: Subcommittee No. 1: Subcommittee on Immigration. Citizenship. and International Law. Subcommittee No. 2: Subcommittee on Claims and Governmental Relations.
