Speech #930063746

Speaker. today is the anniversary of the forcible annexation of Lithuania to the Soviet Union. It is a sad day in the lives of the Lithuanian people. One must recall the tragic history of this brave and noble people. Their freedoms were taken from themthey were forced to be governed by a state they did not want. many were deported to other countries. The list of abuses against the Lithuanian people grows longer each year. yet their courage and open defiance does not lessen. rather it grows stronger and they become more determined. Their tragic course. and their struggle is not theirs to bear alone.
