Session #93 · 1973–75

Speech #930031698

There are many families wanting to adopt a child who cannot find children awaiting adoption in their area. They need only to contact the registry to find where children are available for adoption. There may be large numbers of homeless children in one area while a neighboring region may not have any children awaiting adoption. The bill also contains a provision for coordination with similar programs in foreign countries. thereby facilitating the adoption of foreign born children. This legislation is a necessary step in the direction of providing better care for our homeless children. It would aid in the placement of additional thousands of children into the proper loving atmosphere of a home.
