By keeping the political climate in the Middle East at fever pitch. by fomenting a state of war with Israel when It would have been oh. so. simple to enter proximity talks. by turning the Palestinian refugees on the west bank and in Gaza into political pawns to be manipulated for selfish motives. the Arab states permitted an intolerable situation to go on with the results we have just witnessed. When will they realize what they are doing. not only to the world. but to themselves? The one Arab state which has begun to take a realistic view is Jordan.
