Even today the Iraqi Government has failed to reply to an inquiring world as to their fate. There is a fear that there may be a repetition of the dark period of 4 years ago. when in January of 1969. 14 persons. including nine Jews. were accused of spying. executed in a public square before a large crowd. and their corpses hung there as a relic of some ancient barbarism. Truly. if the Iraqi Government has any serious concern about a threat from its minute Jewish minorityless than one onehundredth of 1 percent of Iraqs populationthen the quickest and easiest thing to do would be to let them emigrate. rather than continue to subject them to harassment. danger. and death. Logic and humanity both commend this conclusion.
