Session #93 · 1973–75

Speech #930001060

During the Second World War. many citizens of Bulgaria. Czechoslovakia. Estonia. Hungary. Latvia. Lithuania. Poland. Rumania. and Yugoslavia fought with great courage against nations at war with the United States. Many of these veterans emigrated to America after the war and became citizens who have enriched our Nation immeasurably through their talent and dedication to the ideals of freedom. This bill gives the recognition of a grateful nation to these men of bravery in the allied war effort by providing that they be eligible for Veterans Administration medical and hospital benefits on the same terms as war veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
