Since January 1969. more than 20.000 Americans have died in Vietnam and 110.000 have been wounded. Ten or 20 times that number of Vietnamese have diedfrom North and South. soldiers and civilians. women and children. There are today an estimated 23 million bomb craters in Vietnam caused by 6 million tons of bombs. along with 7 million refugees. If this continues. all of Vietnam may become one huge craterand everyone left alive may be a refugee. The resort to massive bombing is an admission that our Vietnamization policy has failed. The South Vietnamese army still is not capable of defending itself.
