I have been trying nearly every day for the past 2 weeks to call a Jewish family in the Soviet Union. the Korenfelds of Moscow. Mr. Bergknoff has himself been involved in calls to this family. and tells me that telephone communication has been a lifeline to the family for moral support and information from the rest of the world. Since applying for visas to leave for Israel. the Korenfelds have been deprived of a livelihood. and subjected to repeated harassment and even arrest. My attempts to callnot just the Korenfeld family. but two other individuals as well. Vladimir Slepak and Prof.
