Ga.. on July 26. 1922. the Order of Ahepa was founded to promote an appreciation of the privileges of citizenship. and encourage active participation in the political. social. and civic fields of human endeavor. AHEPA. the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association. is this year celebrating 50 years of service and accomplishment on the local. national. and international level. As a nonpolitical and nonsectarian organization. AHEPA has fought for the freedom and selfrespect of minorities in Greece and Cyprus. and has always been willing to aid victims of disaster. both here and abroad. AHEPA also provides help to noncitizens in attaining full U.S. citizenship and in realizing the responsibilities and obligations that go with it.
