None of these figures includes estimates of enemy deaths. Since the end of March. South Vietngmese military forces have suffered nearly as many deaths as in all of 1971st a rate equivalent to 2.200 Americans dying every day. In addition to the military casualties is the terrible suffering of civilians. Thousands of civilians have. been killed in the recent fightingperhaps 25.000 in South Vietnam alone. Officially acknowledged refugees total over 300.000 in Laos. perhaps a like number in Cambodia. and 1.2 million in South Vietnam. These facts speak for themselves. They literally cry out for an end to this bloodshed.
