We often hear the term "cultural exchange." This ceremony is an example of the ultimate in culture exchangeit is truly a marriage of cultures. Less than 200 years ago all the people who lived here were English subjects. America is the land of the immigrant. Only the Indian is native here. We all are familiar with the melting pot theory. where all immigrants were to completely forget the land of their origin and become a homogenized whole. In this great age in which we are living. many former beliefs and theories are being reassessed. So too the melting pot theory.
