The time has come for the United States to express its official disapproval of the Soviets antiSemitic policies. Recently we were successful in passing before the House of Representatives a resolution urging the President to "call upon the Soviet Government to permit the free expression of ideas and the exercise of religion by all its citizens in accordance with the Soviet Constitution." Today we petition our President to publicly commit himself to the cause of Soviet Jewry. We call upon him to use his leadership to help free the Jewish prisoners of conscience and to help Soviet Jews achieve the fundamental right to live as Jews and to emigrate in freedom.
