Miles doesnt really understand yet what the Technical Institute of Alamance is or why it is that. even at her age. she has an opportunity to make her dreams come true. What is important is that she understands that an education Is vital and that she has another chance to learn. Her classmates include a married couple. a mother and daughter. an educated immigrant learning to spell in his adopted tongue and a number of others who are taking advantage of a chance to become better equipped for life. Theyre all much younger than Mrs. Miles. but they couldnt be more thrilled with the prospect or grateful for the opportunity.
