It is ironic that one of the few men who wanted to stay and use his medical skills to help the people was sent home. while other men who did not want to go in the first place were sent in his place. Sergeant Artis wanted to stay in Vietnam. Mr. Speaker. not because he likes war. but because he felt he could help the people. He is especially concerned about the Cambodian refugees. In Vietnam. Sergeant Artis used his free time to work as a volunteer in a hospital emergency room and as part of a civic action group working with the civilian population.
