The tuition there for students from the United States is astronomical in relation to the tuition of the Mexican nationals. As a matter of fact. one of the greatest parts of their budget is the fact that approximately 1.000 of the students in the medical facilities there are Americans. Another problem is that their wives cannot seek employment in Mexico because they are there on tourist visas. I would suggest to the members of the Committee on Foreign Relations that they might seriously consider this in relation to extending loan guarantees to students in foreign countries. Some method could conceivably be worked out to resolve this problem. because. if in fact we are going to guarantee these loans--again I commend the Senator--obviously. we are going to keep these tuitions at a tremendously high rate.
