Is it any wonder that Baltic people all over the world mourn their lost friends and loved ones? Mr. Speaker. the purges of the Baltic States by the Russians are having a telling effect on these countries. The .latest census figures from the Soviet Union indicate that the native population in Estonia. Latvia. and Lithuania is declining while the influx of ethnic Russians continues. We must work to stop this trend. I have come to know many of the immigrants who came to America from the Baltic states. They are hardworking. industrious people. They loved their independence and struggled to maintain it under the auspices of the League of Nations.
