Romania and Yugoslavia following World War II. Almost a quarter century ago they were forced to leave these countries simply because of their German ethnic background. despite the fact that their families had lived for generations in these countries and despite the fact that they were not and never had been German nationals. As naturalized citizens Of the United States. the dispossessed ethnic Gerrhans seek from their adopted government help in obtaining compensation from the Federal Republic of Germany for the losses they suffered as a result of expulsion from their homelands. They petition the U.S. Government to act as intermediary for them in their effortsfto negotiate settlements for these losses.
