N.J.. for more than 40 years. He died last week of a heart ailment at age 64. It was my good fortune to know Mr. Del Greco and to enjoy him. not only as a writer. but as the toastmaster of an annual gathering of the descendants of Italians who immigrated to the United States. His sense of humorone of the mainstays in the 20.000 or so columns he wrote for the Recordwas the major ingredient of those gatherings. as it was one of the deeply human assets which made Mr. Greco loved by his readers and by those who knew him as a friend.
