This concerns a report on the investigation by the Standards and Conduct Committee on the Chinese crewmen bills. Mr. President. on September 26. 1969. the Senate was informed of allegations that had been published by some newspapers of improprieties surrounding the introduction of private immigration bills in the Senate during the 90th and 91st Congresses for the relief of Chinese crewmen. As chairman of the Select Committee on Standards and Conduct. I responded at that time that the committee had been looking at these allegations and would continue its investigation. Mr. President. at this point I read briefly from the report that I am filing. to show what was done about this matter within a matter of days.
