When Uncle Sam looked at the problem of establishing dependency "allowances" within programs more modern than the income tax he chose to be infinitely more generous. We are allowed $50 a month deduction for each of our kids. But the Aid to Dependent Children program subscribes upwards of $800 a year for the upkeep of an illegitimate child. Refugees from Cuba are allowed a minimum of $1.200 a year. and generous Uncle budgets an additional $1.000 a year for each Cuban refugee child enrolled in school. Job Corps personnel have been costing the government upwards of $7.000 a year. The most recent figures we find for the Vista program (Volunteers in Service of America) indicates that more than $15.000 a year per trainee was provided.
