I dont think they are about to get involved in a war with Israel or break relations with the West so long as it is to their advantage to go the way they are going. They are small. they have little in the way of military power. Emotionally. of course. they are committed to the Arab cause. and to the cause of the Palestinian refugees. They received a pretty heavy blow when the Israelis attacked the Beirut airport. but their involvement so far has been an emotional involvement. I think they will find ways to continue to trade with the West and to be on basically good terms with us.
