Session #90 · 1967–69

Speech #900313407

Mr. Speaker. I point out from the committee report and hearings the fact that this was a refugee family which had survived a Nazi concentration camp and when she and her husband came to this country. they settled in New Orleans. La.. where he worked for a time as an employee in an ArmyNavy store. the kind of work which was offered him. It appears to the committee that in the interest of equity and justice and the necessity for relief that this was a case where his employment would have given rise to entitlement. and the committee feels that this is a proper case for legislative relief.
