Mr. Speaker. I have today introduced a private bill to guarantee U.S. citizenship to the widow of a young soldier. who on his second tour of duty in South Vietnam. was fatally wounded and died as a result of those combat wounds on March 16. 1968. Although it is almost unbelievable. a young Kennett war widow is now facing deportation from this countrybecause her husband was killed in South Vietnam. The above quotation is the lead paragraph in a story which appeared in the September 8 issue of the Missouri Weekly. published at Kennett. Mo. The story was written by the publisher of the paper.
