Session #90 · 1967–69

Speech #900237200

When I was in Israel I visited some of the collective farms. There. I learned that they had found out. after the collective farms had run a while. that the immigrants would abandon them as soon as they would be able to leave and go to a city. and that they had great problems getting people to stay on these state collective farms. So finally Israel began to grant those farmers the right to have a little patch of their own. The farms were owned and operated entirely by the state. but lately they have given the individual workers on those farms. tracts of their own. to cultivate and raise a garden. and now.
