The Nations foundation was built on herolsm among the Armed Forces and domestic stability. A technicality must not be allowed to threaten these fundamentals. This editorial eloquently portrays my own feelings In this matter. I am sure the fathers of our Immigration and Nationality Act did not contemplate that an individual would be denied citizenship solely because her spouse had lost his life in the service of this country. In order that these same unfortunate circumstances do not occur again. I strongly urge my colleagues to support this legislation to correct this obvious and discriminatory inequity that presently exists in the law.
