Session #90 · 1967–69

Speech #900183797

President. I hope we can look forward to the creation of an Office of Citizenship Affairs within the Department of State. whose responsibility will include the issuance of passports and various services for American citizens overseas. My comments today on a significant area of public policy have been brief. and I want to assure Senators I will elaborate further in the next session of Congress. I strongly believe there is much work to be done in energizing our Governments conduct of refugee and migration affairs. and in providing needed services for our own citizens who travel abroad. Mr. President. I ask unanimous consent that the bill I introduce today be printed at this point in the RECORD.
