Senate and House of Representatives who for many years have commemorated Lithuanias independence date on February 16th. with appropriate talks on the Senate and House floors and incorporation of remarks into the Congressional Record. To commemorate this event with our beloved United States in the foreground. we have placed a request before the U.S. Postmaster General asking that a commemorative philatelic stamp be issued in 1968 for the country of Lithuania. In fulfilling this request. the United States would establish an affirmative world opinion that America continues to champion the idea of sovereign equality of all nations in an international system of law. order. and decency.
