Speech #900116833

Mr. Kyros operated a restaurant in Portland where he became widely known and greatly respected. He was an industrious. hardworking. deeply religious. and honest man. and his success as a businessman and parent attests to his courage. For this immigrant boy. grown respected. the election of his son as a Member of Congress must have been a source of great pride. and we can take pleasure in the fact that he lived to see it. When Nicholas Kyros died at the age of 85 last week. Portland lost a distinguished citizen and all who knew him lost a valued friend.
