The purposes of the Order of AHEPA include the instruction of its members in the principles of government. stimulating active participation in public affairs. opposing political corruption. and instilling a spirit of altruism for the benefit of all men. One has only to look at the long list of outstanding contributions of its 46.000 members to appreciate- how well the purposes of the order have been achieved. Among these are such diverse and worthwhile efforts as relief of hurricane. earthquake. and flood victims. construction of schools. establishment of scholarships. and aid to refugees. Mr. Speaker. we should take special pride in the Order of AHEPAs presentday implementation of the centuriesold Greek concepts of civic responsibility.
