Asaad which had been reported from the Committee on the Judiciary with an amendment in line 6. after the word "October". to strike out "18" and insert "16". so as to make the bill read: Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled. That. for the purposes of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Doctor Blanche L. Asaad shall be held and considered to have been lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence as of October 16. 1958. and the periods of time she has resided in the United States since that date shall be held and considered to meet the residence and physical presence requirements of section 316 of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
