Ruth Cowan Nash. an able author and also a West Virginian. edited the report of the conference which provided a factual summary. Considerable attention was given to the needs of special groups. including Negro. American Indian. SpanishAmerican youth and also children of migrant workers. The recommendations of the conference are presented in "Rural Youth in a Changing Environment." and there is also an interesting "Profile of the Rural Juvenile Court Judge." included in the Appendix. Winthrop Rockefeller. chairman of the conference. in his keynote address stated that he was gratified in the answers of youth relative to selfemployment or working for the Government or a large corporation.
