Speech #890151009

Mr. Speaker. I want to compliment Chairman FEIGHAN of the Immigration Subcommittee. As a member of the subcommittee. I know how diligently he worked on the immigration bill. His vast knowledge in the field of immigration contributed immeasurably. to the drafting of a just and fair billa bill which signifies to the world that we continue to stand for the great principles of human freedom and equality on which our Nation was founded. I have read the 25 questions prepared by Chairman FEIGHAN and his answers. which explain the provisions of the bill in laymans language. These are questions which would be asked by the man in the street. and his replies are in concise and nontechnical language. Again. I want to commend the chairman of my subcommittee and thank him for his efforts in providing this information which will be of interest and value to anyone who wishes to be fully informed on the provisions of the new immigration bill.
