I sincerely hope that my good friend the senior Senator from South Carolina will not press his amendment. The Senator from South Carolina makes out a fairly strong case in favor of General Wessin y Wessin. His amendment. however. is an illustration of the fact that it is unwise to pass a general law based on one specific instance. Under the amendment of the Senator from South Carolina. any person who is involuntarily brought into the United States by the United States or its agents cannot be deported. This amendment would cover all persons brought into the United States under those circumstances except prisoners of war. Frequently the U.S.
