I think on the whole. in view of his views concerning this type of legislation. has really strained to try to join with us in an effort to secure passage of this legislation. I assure the senior Senator from Oregon that. whatever he may do on this matterand I shall vote with him. as I saidhe has one Indefatigable fighter trying to get this done as a lawyer. without any regard to what one thinks of the immigration law. I believe that the Senator from Oregon was correct In saying what he did to the Senator from North Carolina. We may very well find a great ally by virtue of this very thing. because it is the kind of thing that is very offensive to a lawyer.
