Session #89 · 1965–67

Speech #890131538

Speaker. during this time we were pretty busy bringing out rules on other important legislation. I do not believe we turned down any rule we were requested to grant. On the minority side we supported each of these measures. and even though I voted against the immigration bill and the voting rights bill. I did support the rule. During July we reported out 10 important bills. And in August. we reported out 15 bills. We supported rules on the immigration bill. the higher education bill. the farm bill. the public works bill. the interest equalization bill. the extension of the vocational rehabilitation bill. the Peace Corps bill. the military pay bill. and the voting rights bill. and when we were asked for medicare and the Social Security Act amendments. we granted the rule. It was passed. Also the farm bill.
