Mr. Speaker. the House of Representatives recently passed a piece of legislation which is long delayed and certainly much needed. if we are to be known and respected as a nation dedicated to freedom and equality. The immigration reform bill will go far In destroying the ignominious stain of the national origins quota system that for so long robbed our Nation of valuable talents and skills. I think the following editorial from the Washington Post cuts to the heart of the matter and calpably points up the benefits that will result from this legislation. [From the Washington (D.C.) Post.
