I am happy to express myself as in support of this legislation and to express my opinion that this is a great improvement over existing law. We have heard some criticisms of the legislation this afternoon. These criticisms have gone all the way from suggesting that we should not have any ceiling insofar as immigration from any part of the world is concerned up to the point where some have said that we should restrict immigration more than we do even at the present time. I certainly feel this bill in promoting quality immigrants for our country is doing something very much worthwhile. It is encouraging to realize that those who are scientists and members of the professions and people who can benefit our Nation with their skills. and who want to come to this country will be welcomed here. and will promote our own national interest as well as in their interest. It also is very important for us as Americans to support this legislation which will enable American families to be reunited with other members of their families who are here in this country.
