Mr. Speaker. because of my deep interest and concern over the presently existing problems connected with our immigration law and the glaring need for reform. I have introduced H.R. 9474 urging the revision of the present immigration law and repeal of the national origins quota system. Prior to serving as a Member of Congress. I was an executive board member of the Chicago chapter of the American Committee on Italian Migration. In December 1963 I served as chairman of the largest rally held In the United States. with over 5.000 people in attendance at the Arie Crown Theater. McCormick Place.
