Session #89 · 1965–67

Speech #890054391

Mr. Speaker. the House Subcommittee on Immigration and Nationality has been holding hearings for many years on the present immigration law. During the course of these hearings. much has been said about the loss of brainpower to the United States because of the archaic national origins quota system. From time to time I have inserted into this loss of brainpower to the people of America. Orice again. I call to the attention of my colleagues in the House of Representatives another vivid example of a great son of immigrant parents who is making a tremendous contribution to the general wellbeing. not only of Americans. but of all mankind. In his article in the Parade section of the Chicago SunTimes of May 16. 1965. Lloyd Shearer points out the accomplishments of a great American.
