The proposed development of Ellis Island includes the rehabilitation of the main immigration building and another building for administrative and public service uses. the rehabilitation of the ferry basin. existing utility services. and the seawall. and the landscaping of the grounds. The inclusion of Ellis Island in the national park system will complement and augment the facilities of Liberty Island and alleviate the overcrowded conditions there.
